In Bas Quartier, in Tana, hunger continues to stand in the way of education. Living under precarious conditions, many students go to school on an empty stomach. Without proper nutrition, it becomes difficult for them to focus, absorb lessons, and engage fully in even the most basic learning activities.
With this initiative, we would like to launch a “Lunch for Learning” campaign, aiming to provide a nutritious daily meal for students in need. By ensuring that children receive at least one balanced meal per day, we hope to help them stay energized, attentive, and ready to learn.
This campaign is inspired by one of my favorite books, Tovonay name was inspired by the book titled “Tovonay l’enfant du Sud “ written by Michèle Rakotoson , which highlights the transformative power of small but vital interventions in one person. Our goal is to unlock the potential of students who are eager to learn but are held back by the simple absence of healthy daily meals. We believe that this initiative can significantly improve classroom attendance and learning performance.
Furthermore, many of these children come from different regions of Madagascar, often migrating toward the capital in search of better education and opportunities.
This campaign not only supports the children but also helps parents, who are already struggling to provide a sustainable daily life.
In short, Tovonay Initiatives is about providing the minimum foundation of well-being for young minds: a little daily nourishment that can fuel their capacity to thrive in school and beyond.
